GERMAN KNIVES / SWORDS, LOT OF TWO, comprising one Fernando Esser bowie knife with horn grip and figural pommel, marked to blade "FERNANDO ESSER / ELBERFELD / ACERO FUNDIDO / GARANTIZADO", with rearing horse mark, and "No. 2832" to ricasso, and a Weyersburg, Kirschbaum & Cie./W.K. & C. hunt sword with wire-wrapped grip, and lion head pommel with glass eyes, marked to blade "W.K. & C. / SOLINGEN / PRIMA QUALITAT", with horse head mark, and numbered "521" to ricasso; each with original leather scabbard and frog. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Esser 18 3/8" LOA, 12" blade; W.K. & C. 30 1/2" LOA, 25" blade.
Excellent condition overall, Esser example lacking leather washer between guard and blade, and with some worm damage to grip; scabbards with expected wear.
