Lot 0081
Two mid Victorian diamond and paste rings. To include an 18ct gold oval-shape paste and split pearl cluster ring, together with an old-cut diamond and vari-shape green paste dress ring. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct, principal diamond estimated I-J colour, P1 clarity. One with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1874. Total weight 3.8gms.

Condition

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Ring sizes L and R.
  • Bands slightly out of shape.
  • Band shows evidence of resize.
  • One green paste deficient.
  • Principal diamond estimated weight 0.15ct.
  • Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
