Roman Pale Green Glass Beaker

Lot 0016
**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful and delicate free-blown glass beaker of a pale-green hue. This vessel exhibits a slight concave base with a rough pontil and a carinated rim, tall cylindrical walls, a deep interior cavity, and a dramatically flared lip with a thickened edge. A wispy layer of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence provides a visually-appealing complementarity to the windswept, diagonally-striated body. Size: 3.45" H (8.8 cm).
