This 19th C. collection includes: (1) 1893 "Evangeline, A Tale of Acadie" by William Wadsworth Longfellow, pub. Thomas Y. Crowell and Company, N.Y., Green leather cover with central device in gilt of holly leaf wreath encircling a harp and crossed quills. Gilt is on top edges only. Wear consistent with age. (1) 1831 "The Life and Adventures of Robinson Crusoe - embellished with engravings" by William Robinson, pub. Key & Mielke, Philadelphia, the marbled covers and page corners show all 187 years of its age. Some foxing. (1)1873 "Among the Isles of Shoals" with illustrations by Celia Thaxter, pub. James R. Osgood and Company, Boston, the volume is hard bound with green paper covers and stylized gilt lettering on spine and cover. (1) Undated but with an inscription from the owner dated 1885, "Poems by Whittier" was published by John W. Lovell Company, N.Y. Gilt edged paper is firmly attached to the spine. Hard-covered in a dark red cloth with gilt embellishment, some gilt remains on the page edges as well. (1) 1898 Twelve volume set, cloth bound, "Robert Browning", pub. Thomas Y. Crowell and Company, N.Y. Titles in this set include: The Ring and The Book in 2 vols., Strafford - Sordello, Dramatic Lyrics - Dramatic Romances - Christmas Eve and Easter Day and more. Red covers with gilt decoration and lettering on front and spine, these volumes are in beautiful condition with very little wear or foxing. (1) 1914 Twelve volume set, cloth bound, "Zane Grey" Home Library Edition, pub. McKinley, Stone & MacKenzie, N.Y. Grey covers with simple block set type on blue background on the spine.
