Charles Emile Jacque (France, 1813 - 1894) Pencil drawing. Size: 5.5 x 4.5 inches. Charles Emile Jacque dedicated himself mainly to landscape and animal painting. He focused at first on graphic art, and made all kinds of prints such as etchings, lithographs, copper engravings, woodcuts and even maps. A trip around Burgundy brought the inspiration to start animal painting. Around 1950, Jacque stayed for a longer time in Barbizon with his artist friends Jean-Fran?ois Millet (1814?1875), and Th?odore Rousseau (1812?1867).
