OSCAR FREDERICK SCHMIDT (American 1892-1957) "Last Oil Boom Town" Oil on canvas. 33 1/2 x 28 1/2 inches; Frame: 35 3/4 x 30 3/4 inches. Signed lower left: O.F. Schmidt. This painting was used on the cover of "The Texaco Star" magazine for the January-February 1933 issue. This painting shows one of the last remaining leaving an oil "Boom Town" of the 1860's. This is the last of a series of 15 original painting dramatizing the outstanding incidents in the development of the American petroleum industry.
