Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 200 BCE to 350 CE. A Nayarit mourning male pottery figure, San Sebastian Red type, sitting in a crouched position with crossed arms resting on upraised knees, emaciated and nude aside from armbands, headband, and ear ornaments. His long face with a downcast visage and open mouth indicates that he is singing, praying, or chanting. Size: 5" W x 7.25" H (12.7 cm x 18.4 cm)
