MAGAZINES: French Little Girl FILLETTE 1910-1911, Fillette [Little Girl]. 20 issues bound in 2 hardcover volumes. 7 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches. One volume contains 6 issues from 1910: August 18, 1910 through September 22, 1910, with some issues apparently missing pages 13, 14, 15 and 16 as the covers advertise 16 pages. Laid in is a leaf that contains pages 15 and 16, from an unknown issue. The other volume contains 14 issues from 1911: February 23 through May 25, complete. Color and black and white illustrations. Note that these are printed on very thin, cheap paper.

Provenance: Estate of Huguette Clark

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925


Good/fair, 1910 issues with some chips and tears, several pages missing small pieces of text, some leaves mounted on very thin backing to help preserve them, be advised that all lots in this sale will exhibit some degree of wear due to age and/or handling
