Text in Japanese. Traditional softcover binding with brilliant copper/metallic endpapers, 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. 52 and 48 pages. Label from Yamanaka & Co., New York on blank page. In wooden presentation box which has a gift inscription on the top, possibly to Huguette, from Mother.

Provenance: Estate of Huguette Clark

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
