Random House, New York. 1971. 10 3/4 x 14 inches. 304 pages with index and color plates and black and white photos throughout. In slipcase. Several pages have marks left by paperclips at the top, and laid in are two color Polaroid photos of a table on page 195. With a historical introduction and detailed study of Chinese joinery, metal mounts, seating surfaces, dating, conservation and restoration.

Provenance: Estate of Huguette Clark

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
