Victorian Campaign-Style Mahogany Pedestal Desk
late 19th century, the rectangular top with an inset leather surface, above a frieze fitted with three drawers, raised on two pedestals, one fitted with three graduated drawers, the other fitted with a narrow drawer over a deep drawer, raised on plinth bases, the whole with brass accents and recessed hardware in the campaign taste.

In overall good to very good condition.
Old finish with subsequent polish on top. Some small veneer flakes around top, generally filled or colored
in. Normal mars, abrasions and shrinkage, including a filled shrinkage crack on one side of the piece, and
a tight vertical shrinkage tear on the deep drawer, and a few like veneer separations at seams on the
other side of the piece.
Tooled leather is in very good condition.
The assembled desk is tight and sturdy.
All locks are present; keys are not. Draweres slide smoothly. The drawers are constructed of what looks
like pine or maple drawer sides, and what appears to be solid red pine bottoms.
