Boris Lovet Lorski (1894-1973, New York, California / Lithuania). Art Deco bronze abstract sculpture of a nude female....Venus. Known as "The Golden Girl". Artist signed under one foot. The bronze measures 22" high, 11" wide. Attached to a square marble base, 6" x 6.25" x 2" high. Height on base, 24" high.

IMPORTANT PROVENANCE INFORMATION: Includes signed letter from Boris Lovet - Lorski, dated May 10th 1964 to the former owner, Mrs. Florentine K. Barr, giving title to the bronze as "The Golden Girl" and writing that "She is No.4, cast in Paris". This was in response to a letter (included) that Mrs Barr sent to Boris Lovet-Lorski, providing information that the sculpture was acquired in 1927-28. Additional correspondence from the artist to Mrs. Barr is also included, as well as a vintage photo of the bronze in its original state, see photos.
