A choice Bronze Age lidded alabaster jar, c. 2500 - 1500 BC, the vessel carved from beautiful translucent stone, well-hollowed with rounded bottom and flat rim with a perfectly fitted lid. The edges of the lid id pierced on opposite sides with corresponding holes near the rim where the lid would be tied in place. 6 3/4 x 3 7/8 in (12.3 x 9.8 cm). Very well-preserved with light deposits. Ex collection of Dr. H.M. Hardy, MO, acquired in 1969 from Michel E. Abemayor, Ancient Works of Art, NY.
