Native American, North America, Eastern Woodlands, ca. 200 to 1000 CE. Carved from a lustrous white stone with grey and brown inclusions, a very nice mortar. Certainly a utilitarian artifact, but also quite attractive for its form and the inherent beauty of the stone. Size: 6" in diameter x 2.75" H (15.2 cm x 7 cm)
Provenance: private Vaught collection, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
