A ceramic flask or ampulla in the Byzantine style, discoid with trumpet-shaped spout and two lateral strap handles; high-relief male bust to one face with ropework detailing to the tunic and hair. 735 grams, 23cm (9"). The property of an English gentleman; formerly in a German collection; acquired 1980s-early 1990s.
