Unusual vintage ballpoint signatures of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, dating to their famous 1969 'Bed-In' at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam: Lennon signs twice, "John Lennon," on a light brown 5.5 x 3 slip, and Ono signs once, "Yoko Ono," on a 2.75 x 1 slip. Both are affixed to slightly larger slips, which have subsequently been applied to a larger page bearing two original photographs from the event. In very good to fine condition, with moderate creasing to the Lennon page, and light staining to both from adhesive residue on the reverse. Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance from the original recipient, in part: "At the time of 29th March 1969 (a Saturday) I was 18 years old...On the lower photo you can see me on the most left side, sitting, dark hair. My girl friend (still...) is the blond one and we both wrote for our school-magazine and always looking, researching, finding for special subjects...The bedpeace/hairpeace in the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam 1969 was also a fantastic subject for us, and so for the magazine! After a few days of phoning, asking, begging we were welcome to visit John & Yoko. A lot of hours waiting in the lobby of the hotel, very nervous, we were able to get in the elevator for the visit, special integrated for school people. Finally we entered the hotel room of John and Yoko, still a moment not to forget! The photos, signatures are the results of this special day!" After their marriage, Jon and Yoko famously honeymooned in the presidential suite at the Hilton in Amsterdam, where they held a 'Bed-In for Peace' protest against the Vietnam War. Boasting outstanding provenance, these are especially desirable signatures from this historic event.
