You are bidding on an excellent example of a Ganado style Navajo rug. According to *Charley's Navajo Rugs website, "[Gandado is] in the geographic center of the Navajo Reservation...The [Ganado] motif generally consists of one or more stepped diamonds or stepped and embellished triangles." Red, gray, black, and ivory are dominate colors in the designs. This rug shows 100% wool construction with the stepped diamonds and triangles with natural pigmented gray, red, brown, and tan. The rug , believed to be early to mid 1900's, is in very good condition, but does have a somewhat loose selvedge cord in one corner and a few small holes near one end. The rug measures 71" x 45".
