We are fortunate to have several matching pair brass baggage tag sets in this auction. They are all the older "Depot" style tag with just the destination of the traveler. Note the different shapes for quick identification by employees. They are all matching pairs except one single. This set is #529 from Concord Junction Massachusetts. Concord Junction is know known as West Concord. Its name comes from the junction of the Fitchburg with the Old Colony line that ran from Framingham to Lowell. We always still call it Concord Junction (fine Italian wine shop & cool health food shop) and we just forget that everybody non-train calls it West Concord. This early set has the name abbreviated on one line. We have another set that has Junction spelled out and stretched onto 2 lines. It's interesting that they kept the same shape for continuity.
