**First Time At Auction**

Western Asia, probably Luristan (Iran), ca. 1000 BCE. A thin cast bronze dagger blade with a pronounced midrib and a tang for attachment to a handle (the tang would once have been much longer). This example has a gorgeous blue patina, rare in bronze from Western Asia, indicating a high level of tin in the bronze alloy. Size: 1.4" W x 10.6" H (3.6 cm x 26.9 cm); 11.65" H (29.6 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Boulder, Colorado, USA collection; ex John Piscopo, California, USA

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

The edges of the blade are worn and slightly corroded. End of tang is probably an ancient loss. Beautiful blue patina on surface.
