Eastern Europe, Russia, ca. 16th to 17th century CE. One hundred coins, known as "wire money," made from hammered and stamped silver wire. This style of coinage was made in certain Russian fiefdoms when the Golden Horde's influence began to slip in the middle of the 14th century. The largely unregulated nature of these coins' production means that there are thousands of different varieties. A nice selection. Size of each on average: 0.6" W (1.5 cm); 47 grams
