The compressed globular body encircled by three grooved bands, rising from a short straight foot to a tall tapering neck encircled by two bow-string bands in imitation of bamboo and a broad everted mouth, covered overall in a warm beige glaze suffused with icy flakes permeated by fine crackles, the foot ring unglazed revealing the buff body, 9.2 inches high. Provenance: property from a private estate, by descent. Formerly from the collection of private UK collector Donald Ratcliffe; purchased from John Sparks London. Accompanying this lot is a photocopy of original receipt (see item 1) dated August 12, 1977.
