In a Doris Langley Moore Letter: “All were bought by me from a niece of Mrs. Toogood, one of the Queen’s dressers and quite beyond questionâ€. The clothing items are of the Queen’s size during her elder years and conform to her taste. One pair light brown suede elbow-length mitts, L-14; one pair black mitts, L-11; two pair chenille gloves, one taupe, one brown; one pair brown wool gloves, all approximately L-7 1/2. Square white cardboard box with trim and crest in gold, cross and three crowns on inside cover, c. 1850, 7 x 8 x 1 1/2.
