Ivory silk having fancy-weave and brocade peplum bodice with long sleeve, satin collar embroidered with pearls, chiffon trim, trained satin skirt embroidered with pearls in a pattern of large, stylized bell flowers, huge brocade cathedral train, padded to the side edges and hem, backed in satin and edged in pinked ruffles. Petersham and waistband label "Russell & Allen Robes de Bal". Purchased from Doris Langley Moore in 1963, copy of invoice included. B-29, W-20, L 39-54, train L-84. (Collar split and half detached along with a chiffon pouf, some pearl losses, very minor stains at back waist, skirt has numerous splits). Together with a crescent hair ornament with ostrich plume, kid opera-length gloves, silk stockings with lace, a pair of satin pumps with bow vamp decorated with tiny beads, (hole at the top of one stocking, some wear to shoes). Skirt-fair, train-excellent, bodice and accessories good-excellent.
