Lot 0418
One with ivory silk ruffles and cloth lilies of the valley, a cream rosebud and green velvet bows, Paris label, interior note inked "I wore this bonnet when on a private visit to the Empress of Russia at Petershoff Palace in 1890. Mrs Julia L. Butterfield". She visited Russia after her 1886 wedding in London. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2. (Flowers slightly darkened) very good. One black net outlined with black sequins and jet beads, draped in black velvet and embroidered in black chenille, front draped in knotted pink velvet with pink ostrich plume, label "Heitz Boyer, Paris", described in Larson inventory and Janet Arnold 1969 notebook with Julia Butterfield notation, 8 x 9 x 2 1/2. (Some browning, clouding to jet, losses to feather and sequins) good.
