Comprising a storage jar of globular form with raised flared neck, the sides painted with black geometrical designs and banding, a large handled cup with black painted hash marks, a smaller cream slipware cup the interior with banding and the exterior with vertical patterns, together with a small handle less cup with banded rim. Some losses, damage, and repairs throughout. Greatest diameter 6.5 inches, greatest height 6.25 inches.
Sold on behalf of the Washington, Iowa Public Library to whom the offered lot along with a collection of other similar Native American items offered on this auction was donated in 1964 to the library by Mrs. Emily Powis Simpson-Atmore (1882-1968). See provenance for lot #1.
