Disney automaton, Nazi Donald Duck, believed to be a lobby piece & the only one known, from an 8 minute WW2 Disney animated anti-Nazi propaganda film "Der Fuehrer's Face". Discovered by Ward Kimble, the legendary Disney animator, at a flea market in Pasedena, CA. He immediately recognized Donald, then dressed in a Santa suit, as a lobby display piece from an important animated WWII Disney film. Kimball knew this piece was an automaton for that film. Kimball said it was the only one made. A Disney employee restored the piece to the condition and form as when it stood in the theater lobby. At the Academy Awards in 1943, this film won Disney their first Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, VG restored working cond, 36"H x 35"W.
