Cool piece of history in this knife. This USMC Hospital Corp Knife from Chatillon, NY. Knives like these were used out in the field to clear debris as well as chop branches to use for splints or cutting branches for field stretchers. This one has been used, blade is a little dull at the center, but near the handle, there is some sharpness. Comes with the original BOYT scabbard, marked USMC BOYT 45 (designating 1945). Scabbard is in very good condition considering age and use, with no loose seams, no holes in leather, rivets to show oxidization on the back as well as around the leg tie hole. Unsheathed, this knife measures approx 16 1/4", with scabbard, approx 17".
