Cal. 12 Ga. S# 198. Bbls. 30" of Damascus steel w/ London black powder proofs fitted w/ original brass tipped hardwood ramrod. Top rib marked ""ALEX HENRY 12 SOUTH ST. ANDREW ST. EDINBURGH". "ALEX HENRY" marked locks have borderline engraving w/ wolfs head engraving on hammers. Key fastened straight hand stock w/ checkered wrist & forearm having iron trigger plate & trigger guard w/ grip extension. Top of wrist has silver shield marked "F. MANSON / To C.H. BARBER". LOP: 13 3/8" over engraved steel buttplate w/ long peak extension. DAC: 1 13/16". DAH: 2 1/2". Stock is cast off. Bore dia: right - .730", left - .732". Cyl & cyl bores. Minimum wall thickness: right - .043", left - .039". Weight: 7 lbs., 10 oz. Serial number indicates 1853 mfg. Consignor supplied information relates that first gun mfg. by Alexander Henry was S# 121 making this the 77th gun he produced. CONDITION: bbls. retain 70% dull browned finish showing good Damascus pattern. Locks retain faint traces of case colors. Stock shows wear w/ scratches, dents & sm. chips along bbl. channels. Bores are dark w/ sm. areas of light pitting. (01-14724/DS). ANTIQUE. $650-1000.
