RIFLES. 1) STEVENS IDEAL NO. 44 1/2. Cal 218 IMP Bee. S# 10498. Action mfg. 1903-1916. Fitted w/ double set triggers. 27" Tapered heavy stainless bbl. w/ finely engraved cal. marking. Bbl. has Unertl style target blocks at proper 7.2" spacing. Tiger striped dark maple stock set. Forend w/ 2 checkered panels, corresponding rosewood inlay at tip & QD sling stud. Buttstock w/ finely checkered black plastic buttplate plus tall cheekpiece for scope use. Straight grip portion of stock w/ checkered panels meeting at parting line on bottom; drilled for missing QD sling stud. CONDITION: very good overall appearance. Stock set especially nice appearing & well fitted except forend slightly out of time w/ receiver. Good somewhat faded case colors, approaching gray patina on lever. Slight cleaned pitting on top flat of receiver plus light marks on either side of front portion of receiver (likely from rebarreling efforts). Light screw slot damage to tang screws & 1 action screw. Light peppery oxidation on falling block. Very good bbl. exterior w/ near excellent bore. (18-137/NW). 2) WINCHESTER MODEL 1885. Cal. 30. S# 101807. Later production model w/ coil spring action & close coupled set trigger. Mfg. approx. 1915. Wildcat cal. unknown but rimmed cartridge relatively straight walled w/ sharp shoulder having rim dia. of approx. .525 & base dia. of approx. .450. Walnut stock has added piece of walnut to make raised comb & fitted w/ Pachmayr ventilated pad. 28" Heavy part round, part octagon in the white bbl. Redfield dovetail mounted globe front sight similar in size & appearance to Lyman No. 17. A work in progress w/ black reference marks & Dykem blue on bbl. Tang fitted w/ reproduction Vernier tang sight adj. for both windage & elevation having large target disc. Standard Winchester forend w/ ebony insert at tip plus walnut added to rear to increase length. CONDITION: bbl. rough formed, ready for final finish. Forend w/ triangular section missing at top front on both sides. Buttstock w/ good fit to tangs, in need of final finishing plus hole on toe line for swivel. Lever & lower tang w/ good traces of original blue. Receiver has light pitting & patina. Lever pivot retained w/ scope ring screw. Incorrect action screw on left side of receiver, missing on right. Faded blue & traces of Dykem on falling block. Fully functional trigger set. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dennis "Denny" Lundmark. (18-139/NW). BOTH MODERN. $1,000-1,600 for lot.
