Bbl. drilled & tapped for forend screw approx. 5 3/8" ahead of receiver. Action is 1902 Remington Military fitted for Day's patent extractor. Extractor & retaining screw are not present. Receiver tang marked on top "REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CTG. CO REM. WORKS, ILION NY U.S.A. PATD. OCT. 22, 1901". Walnut buttstock w/ sling swivel & tang type buttplate. Buttstock has heavily sanded refinished appearance over wear, dents, staining & scratches. Repaired w/ bedding compound around buttplate. Buttplate edges grounded to match wood. Action has traces of dull case colors w/ wear, scratches, oxidation & moderate pitting throughout. Front edge of action has sharp oxidized edges. Bbl. appears unfinished turning gray patina w/ visible milling marks throughout. Good bore w/ appearance of light wear. (18-82/RW). MODERN. $200-300.
