S# 2534. Cal. 7.62mm (NATO). Bbl. 26". Semi-Auto version of Browning air cooled Model 1919A4 by Rapid Fire of Ohio. Marked on right side plate, "RAPID FIRE TROY OH, 1919A4 CAL. .308, SERIAL 2534". Many parts are Saginaw marked. Right side plate marked ahead of rear sight bracket "7.62" & Hebrew character. Feed tray parts have 7.62 & Hebrew markings. Rear sight marked to 1800 meters. Folding blade front sight. Breech block marked 7.62. Brass plate on trunnion block for metal linked belted ammunition. Consignor states that gun will function w/ cloth belts; consignor further states conversion to 7.62 was done by Israel & that feed pawls, cartridge guides & recoil booster are correct. Gun can be converted to 8mm & Cal. 30-06. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: includes traverse & elevation mechanism, pintle & tripod. Tripod is marked w/ brass plate, "NO 1247 HMR Mount Tripod CAL.30 M2 COLSON CORP. 1942". Additional accessories include canvas bbl. bag, two 100 rd fabric belts, head space gage, reprint of FM-23-45 field manual & original 1944 firing tables. CONDITION: fair worn bore w/ light pitting turning dark. Has 80% arsenal rework parkerizing w/ thinning wear & scratches. (18-1206/RW). MODERN. $2,500-4,000.
