Cal. 6.5mm Daudetau. S# 90155. All visible numbers match. Rifle marked on left receiver rail in fractur "I.G. Mod. 71.". Marked on top over chamber "LFTJ (?) St. Denis". Rifle was Model 71 11mm Mauser, converted to 6.5mm Daudetau at St. Denis Arsenal in France for Uruguay in 1894. Ladder rear sight marked to 2,000 yds. Inverted V front sight. Has bayonet stud under bbl. Side mounted cleaning rod is present. Bottom swivels. Brass trigger guard. Steel buttplate. Walnut stock. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework type finish w/ moderate wear, dents, scratches & sanding marks plus loss of wood in inletted areas. Repaired crack in top right side of grip. Lower band spring appears possible replacement does not fit correctly. Metal has appearance of having been cleaned as turned overall gray w/ patina. Has wear, oxidation & appearance of scattered fine pitting. Fair worn bore turning dark. (01-14793/RW). ANTIQUE. $350-450.
