1) SPRINGFIELD 1879 TRAPDOOR. Cal. 45-70. S# 102419. Bbl. 32 5/8" w/ Model 1873 rear sight. Case colored high arch breechblock w/ 1873 date. 2 Band walnut stock w/ clear "1887" dated cartouche. Peak of stock has rack marking "52". Left side of stock has hand carved initials "RH". Slotted tip cleaning rod. CONDITION: 40% dull blue fading to patina showing spots of surface corrosion. Stock has worn original finish showing heavy dents & marks. Bore retains good rifling showing spots of pitting. (01-14736/DS). 2) WERNDL MODEL 1867 INFANTRY RIFLE. Cal. 11.15X58R. S# 871. Bbl. 33" w/ right side bayonet lug & military graduated leaf rear sight. Breech end of bbl. has "St71" date mark. Single shot action w/ rotating breechblock. Front ring is marked "WERNDL". Island lock. 2 Band walnut musket stock. Left side of stock stamped "1G7". Iron musket buttplate, peak is stamped "B/651ST / 2131". Fitted w/ modern camoflauge web sling on original swivels. CONDITION: metal has cleaned gray appearance & light pitting. Lock has no mainspring tension. Heavily sanded & refinished stock has cracks extending from both sides of action. Dark pitted bore. (01-14739/DS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $600-900 for lot.
