This antique vellum land indenture states that it was created "in the fourteenth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord Charles of England, Scotland, and Ireland" suggesting that it dates to 1639, the 14th year of the reign of King Charles I of England. The contract is between "Christopher Thoors of Montsmorn in the County of Burk" and "Robert Carlson of Chrapton" also in the county of Burk. The back of the contract bears signatures reading Henry Romo, Edward Ornafis, and William Dunscombe. The name John Dunscombe also appears on the back of the contract.
The piece measures approximately 13.25" x 10.5".
