Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, 13th to 16th Dynasty, ca. 1803 to 1600 BCE. A faience glazed steatite scarab with an unidentified royal cartouche on the base, nefer, a double uraeus, and a double Eye of Horus. Pierced laterally for wearing; with a gorgeous turquoise color. Size: 0.6" W (1.5 cm)

Provenance: ex Hank Johnson collection, Denver, Colorado, USA; ex HD-Enterprise, Denver, Colorado, USA, acquired from the estate of Philip Mitry, Cairo, Egypt, collected in the 1950s
