Egypt, late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Periods, ca. 712 to 30 BCE. Two stirrup-shaped, bright blue faience finger rings, each one with a flat face bearing a symbol. One is a symmetrical sunburst or pyramid; the other is an anthropomorphic figure. These ring bezels were made using a clay mold, demonstrating the level of skill that the ancient Egyptians had attained in working faience. One is too small to be worn; the other is a US size 3.5. Size of largest: 0.8" W (2 cm)
