Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd century BCE. A mold-made, pottery plaque with perforation for suspension. On its face is a relief depiction of Athena (Minerva to the Romans), goddess of wisdom and war and patron of Athens. A plaque like this one would have been made as an offering, probably sold outside a temple. Size: 3" W (7.6 cm)
