**First Time At Auction**
Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, Daunia, ca. 4th century BCE. A lovely wheel-thrown pottery vessel of a graceful form with a small footed base, wide body, and rolled shoulders, a funneled rim, and a pair of applied handles. The lower body, foot, and rim interior display a concentric banded design, and the shoulders exhibit a sinuous motif of vines and leaves, all in caramel and light-coffee hues. Some leaves display their original dark coloration, and the underside of the rim has a repeating teardrop motif as well. A lovely example! Size: 7.75" W x 6.625" H (19.7 cm x 16.8 cm).
