**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, north coast of Peru, Chavin culture, ca. 900 to 200 BCE. A beautiful golden ring whose design appears timeless, and that would not look out of place being worn today. A large ovoid sheet of 14K gold has been gently bent to mirror the shape of a finger; this is attached at its center to a narrow, thin gold band. A remarkable and delicate sign of ancient wealth, made to be worn by royalty or the elite! Size: 0.8" W x 2.5" H (2 cm x 6.4 cm); 4.75" H (12.1 cm) on included custom stand. US ring size 4-5 (the ring is slightly bent, which makes measuring it difficult). 3.8 grams.
Provenance: private Hawaii, USA collection; ex Westermann collection
