"Head of Christ From The Pieta" Cast Carrara Marble Sculpture W/Mixed Media, Gold Leaf, Copper & Silver by Prince Lorenzo de' Medici W/Letter of Authenticity - This sculpture is called "Head of Christ From The Pieta", and is Prince Lorenzo de' Medici's artistic interpretation of the Pieta by Michangelo. The Pieta is the only signed work by Michelangelo, who considered it as the complete expression of his talent and the divine inspiration he believed to be the guiding hand behind his work. This sculpture opens links very dear to the artist Lorenzo de' Medici, especially for his family inheritance that first considered these ideas five centuries ago. These concepts are at the core of Prince Lorenzo de' Medici's recent POP artworks and this piece is an exploration to deepen on Michelangelo's thinking, who originally created this sculpture of Jesus. Lorenzo surrounds the sculpture with a copper crown with silver spines, and then transforms the subtle crown of spines with gold leaf, in an almost golden halo that surrounds the head of Christ. Prince Lorenzo intensifies the meaning of his artwork with two more symbols of fascinating importance: an intense blue ring that holds the beautiful serene head of Jesus, the color of the Sky that also reminds us of a deep sense of Eternity, and the red drops of blood delicately posed in Christ face look as the gems of his human pain that were given by Jesus for our Redemption. This sculpture has been cast from a master made from the Vatican’s mold of the original, created under the supervision of the Vatican’s own artisans, and the casting is faithful to the original in every detail and subtlety. On the lower back side of the sculpture there are two golden medals indicating "ARTE DIVINA" with the approval of the Vatican Observatory Foundation, as well as the inscription: "ARTE DIVINA 10/99". The sculpture is also signed on the front by Prince Lorenzo. This piece will come with a letter of authenticity from the Prince on his royal letterhead, and will also come with a full description of the piece by art curator Mariavelia Savino.
