Circa 3000 BC. A carved serpentine cylinder seal with pendant suspension depicting women and pots, accompanied by a museum quality impression and a typed, signed scholarly note by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: With pierced handle. Two squatting women on mats holding up pots in their hands, other pots around. Mesopotamia, c. 3000 BC. Condition fair. 6.25 grams, 23mm (1"). Property of a Mayfair, London, UK, ancient art collector; acquired in the 1970s-1980s; inventory number 87.
