16th-18th century AD. A mixed group of bronze crosses in Byzantine style, pendant, votive and altar types. 321 grams total, 5.5-12cm (2 1/4 - 4 3/4"). Property of a British gentleman; formerly in the private collection of Russian businessman Yuri Golubev (1942-2007), some of his collection was published in his book 'Symbols and Images'; previously with Iconastas Russian Fine Art and Antiques, London SW1; formerly in the collections of Constable-Maxwell and Lord McAlpine in the 1980s-1990s; accompanied by a copy of the invoice for a part of the collection acquired from Iconastas dated 26 September 2005.
