A bronze compass, oval in shape with pierced openwork geometric pattern to the top, underneath compass point with engraved pattern to the plate below; scrolling plant motif to the side; interlaced openwork floral projection to the top with suspension ring and plaited leather strap. 90 grams, compass: 55mm (2 1/4"). Property of a central London gallery; previously acquired from a private collection formed during the 1980s.
