East Asia, China, ca. mid 20th century CE. A collection of three Chinese propaganda posters from 1949 onward, representing several of the major themes of that particular style of art. One depicts a small child dressed as a soldier, similar to the New Year's posters that always show a happy child or children in service to the nation. Similarly, another shows three happy children playing together. The third is of a very different style, depicting a vast number of people engaged in varied actions, using a variety of tools, all happy and supportive of one another.
