DESCRIPTION: An antique Villeroy & Boch porcelain beer stein. Features an overall tree trunk designed foundation with a brown glaze, garnished with embossed wheat and grape clusters enveloping German writing, centered by an embossed scene of a man and woman weilding stalks of wheat. Finished with a tree branch motif handle and a pewter mounted lid. Marked along the underside:"Villeroy & Boch Mettlach". Marked in German along the body of the stein:"der ruben und der gerstensaft. Verleiht dem men schen muth u kraft. darum trinke".

CONDITION: One considerable hairline running from the bottom of the base up towards the side of the handle, to the rim. One chip at the inception of the hairline.
