Lot 0081
Spectacular piece of jewelry believed to be from the 1700s Georgian period. All hand crafted oval pendant that is deep, open in the back and the front. The front is a hand painted portrait on metal under a convex piece of glass. Inside shows a wrapped piece of cotton, unsure of origin, may have been placed inside to protect the glass back. The hollow openwork frame appears to have finely woven blond hair might be silk type of fabric, hard to verify. Around the outer circumference of the pendant. There is no markings and beside the removable back, also appears to be one whole piece worked to create the pendant. Measures approx 2 1/4" x 1 1/2".

Light chip along the left of the portrait, needs polish, light crease in metal of back frame
