A Byzantine gold solidus of emperor Justin I, c. AD 518 - 527, struck at Constantinople, the obverse bearing the facing bust of the emperor wearing a helmet, the reverse with the inscription 'VICTORIA AVGGGZ', and bears the image of Victory facing holding a patriarchal cross and a globus cruciger. The coin grades VF. 20.5 mm. 4.48 g. Ex Barstow, CA family collection acquired prior to 1990.
