French or Austrian, with hussar-type brass hilt, the ribbed leather grip with twisted copper wire wrap. The long, lightly-curved blade with broad central fuller, etched and heavily gilded and blued with stands of arms and flowers, and I. S. & CO. at the right forte. In its brass scabbard with twin suspension bands and iron chape. Early 19th century. Minor losses to grip leather, grip slightly loose, minor dents to scabbard. Overall length 101 cm. Condition II
