One of two poems by MacNamara Morgan (1720-1762) satirizing the appointment of William Murray, later Earl of Mansfield, to the post of solicitor-general in November, 1742. See the DNB online. Contemporary ink annotations identifying many of the allusions in the poem; to these are added further elucidations in a modern (and obviously learned) hand.
