A very fine pair of watercolor and gouache paintings on Chinese pith paper by Sunqua (Chinese, active 1830-1870) depicting flowers in woven rattan baskets. These are executed by one of the masters of the period and medium. Each painting is housed in a decorative gold frames under plexiglass.

Condition

Stains and discoloration visible on both paintings. Painting with daffodils has a cut on the center bottom and rip on L side.
